Security Advisories (1)
CVE-2026-112202 (2026-10-20)

Imager::File::GIF versions before 1.006 for Perl allow out-of-bounds reads when consolidating GIF images. With `gif_consolidate => 1`, palette indices from the image are used without checking the colour table's bounds. The i_readgif_low routine reads beyond the heap allocation and copies the bytes into output pixels. The default GIF reader is not affected. The same code ships bundled in the Imager distribution. An attacker supplying a crafted GIF can disclose adjacent heap memory through the decoded output and may crash the process.

NAME

Imager::Font::FreeType2 - low-level functions for FreeType2 text output

DESCRIPTION

Imager::Font creates a Imager::Font::FreeType2 object when asked to.

See Imager::Font to see how to use this type.

This class provides low-level functions that require the caller to perform data validation.

This driver supports:

transform()
dpi()
draw()

The following parameters:

  • utf8

  • vlayout

  • sizew

Special behaviors

If you call transform() to set a transformation matrix, hinting will be switched off. This prevents sudden jumps in the size of the text caused by the hinting when the transformation is the identity matrix. If for some reason you want hinting enabled, use $font->hinting(hinting=>1) to re-enable hinting. This will need to be called after each call to transform().
