oEdtk::dataEdtk - legacy COBOL descriptor helpers

SYNOPSIS

use oEdtk::dataEdtk qw(unpackCopygroup cpyOccurs);

DESCRIPTION

Legacy helpers that reformat COBOL PIC descriptors into Perl unpack and printf descriptions and expand OCCURS blocks. They depend on the old gen_appEdtk.pl generator and are believed to be no longer used; they are kept for reference.

FUNCTIONS

unpackCopygroup

my @parts = unpackCopygroup(\$record);

Read a COBOL PIC string (X, 9 or S9, with V9(n) and OCCURS clauses) and return the column rank, name, length, Perl type, decimals, sign, remaining text and occurrence count. An unhandled OCCURS clause is an error.

cpyOccurs

my $n = cpyOccurs($rLignesTab);

Expand the OCCURS blocks in the array of lines referenced by $rLignesTab and return the number of nested OCCURS. The internal helper cpyEditOccurs duplicates the buffered lines; it is not part of the public API.
