- use Sub::Private { mode => 'enforce' } instead of bare use Sub::Private. Sub::Private 0.07 changed the global default mode from 'enforce' to 'namespace'. In namespace mode :Private subs are removed from the package symbol table, so OO method dispatch ($self->_merge_base_criteria, $self->_fixate) falls through to AUTOLOAD which silently returns undef. The symptom was all query criteria being ignored (no WHERE clause emitted) and base_criteria being completely suppressed. Explicitly requesting enforce mode restores the pre-0.07 behaviour for this package.
